Launch event – What food means to me…

Food Matters held a wonderful event last week to get the year long project off to a good start. Four exceptional speakers, with backgrounds in farming, development and research, gave ten minute talks on what food means to them.  A great audience then quizzed them on a range of questions.

Roy Lambourne – A life-long farmer and agricultural consultant, and Churchwarden in Buckinghamshire

Ruth Valerio – Theologian, activist, small holder and author of ‘L’ is for Lifestyle

Revd Mike Rayner – Director of the British Heart Foundation Health Promotion Research Group at the University of Oxford, and ordained priest in the Church of England

Paul Valentin – A tropical agriculturist by training with 30 years experience in international development, Paul is the International Director of Christian Aid
